Before this winter storm comes and dumps 12 inches onto the Eastern portion of North Carolina.
Then I set my Scale Model down and snapped some shots of it with the car as comparison!

Thanks Matt! It's not bad for a 4-Cylinder.

Not a big fan of the hood stuff, personally a normal one would look better.
But major props for a clean LX Foxbody. Still one of the best looking, most practical mustangs. Very stylishly done.
And I will say I'm a fan of Calypso Coral.

It's the stock scoop from the '79 Cobra with an '85 GT style stripe.
Thanks man, I love this thing to death.
And It's Calypso Green! Calypso Coral was the Red color used on '69 and '70 Mustangs, and is also friggin awesome!

Prepare for some amazing winter hoonage! Is that your DD? If so, then you're gonna have a lot of fun for the next couple of days.

I did the same for my dad's Charger, including the wrong wheels and stripe placement. It was originally a kit for the Charger from Bullit, but I had extra pieces from other kits. Only differences are the model is a 4 speed and has the R/T steering wheel. I'm sure you can figure out what I have planned for the Camaro kit.
Now if only I could find a 1972 Cutlass Supreme kit.

Yeah it's my dd, but my driveway is on a decline and the part i park in is gravel and pinestraw... I don't think it's going to be coming out anytime soon! Thank God my roommate has a lifted FJ.

I'm crossing my fingers the Camaro turns out nice. It's been about 10 years since I did a model kit, and duplicating that Inferno Orange and orange interior is going to be a pain.

Tempo-Stang with the Pinto engine :( It is a huge chunk of fun! And I ran times with my Dad's 2002 GT and my cousin's 2008 Bullitt in Autocross last year.

It's a Mustang... ewww.
Just kidding. Looks nice. Rare to see a Fox that isn't stripped for a disposable track car.

Yeah man I saved this car from that life! Bought it for $700 and it was basically a shell with a useless interior, but I saved it and completely restored/modified the interior and five years later it looks like this! I hate all of the stripped drag foxes... especially the lsx ones.

Wait... wait...
You did all that work to a 4 cylinder? Are you on crack? Did you modify it at all under the hood? I'm asking because I HAD a 4 cylinder Fox Mustang. It was my first car. An '87 beige sedan to be exact. Yours looks considerably better than mine, but mine drove like absolute crap. I mean, that engine is durable, but it has like 90 hp. If you have the stock 4 in there then I salute your reverse sleeper...

Yes It is a 4-Cylinder and no I'm not on crack! Under the hood is the old stock 105hp 2.3L engine with a CAI and dual Glasspacks, mounted up to a 5-speed transmission, nothing more. It's got 240K on the clock and still chugging along fine. Of course there is no acceleration or speed whatsoever, but I get close to 30mpg, even when I'm driving the piss out of it. If you want a reason for my madness, here it is.
At the time of purchase I was 15 and desperately wanted an 85-86 5.0, but my dad had a really low paying job and had picked up a paper route to make ends meet. We had been combing craigslist for months, finding nothing in our price range when this popped up with an advertised price of $900. Being our last resort of me having my own car(That I would actually enjoy), we talked the guy down to $700, because the whole interior needed replacing as well as a broken driver quarter window and door handle. The rear shocks were toast and it had a few dings, but overall the body was completely straight.
It was a 5-speed, sunroof equipped, FoxBody Mustang and it was a piece of shit, but after I learned to drive stick and we fixed the odds and ends, it was my piece of shit. Over the last five years its gone through 3 interior changes and countless exterior mods to bring it to where it is today, and I have currently upgraded the suspension on all four corners to make it autocross like a champ!
The original plan of course was to drop a carbed 302 under the hood after a year or two, but it kept getting pushed back and now the plan is for me to foot the bill for it once I graduate and have my own disposable income. So, it will be a 5.0 one day, but for now I enjoy filling her up once every two weeks and answering "Hell Yes!" to the question "DAMN! Is that really just a 4-banger?" It's slow as piss from a guy with kidney stones, but I love the thing to death and I hope to keep it as a project for life.
All of the phases It's been thru, up until the pics on this thread.

Yep. Your 'Stang is beautiful and there is some obvious love.
Are you really going to stick a huge lump like a 5.0 in the front of that? Have you followed project ugly horse?

Yeah I am haha and yes i have followed that project and its pretty awesome, but I've gotta have that v8 rumble and that unrivaled flowmaster sound... anything else would just fall short, no matter the power gains.

It's been an awesome project for my dad and I! We've pretty much done it all in my backyard on a gravel driveway with some cheap floorjacks and a couple of wrenches. It's given us hell a couple of times, but I wouldn't trade it, or the time spent with dad, for the world!

Chambered mufflers like flowmasters usually don't sound as good as straight through stuff—flowmasters sound hollow and echo-y. If you can tolerate the noise, true duals with magnaflow bullets or some glasspacks will give you some oldschool V8 rumble with some snap, crackle, and pop. Much better :)

I saw a cutlass supreme convertible kit—it came with both 442 grills and the supreme grills. I don't know of any other kits—I did find a really nice die-cast model of a cutlass, but it's not a supreme.

Yeah, that flowmaster 40 just has that classic Mustang sound though. That 5.0 exhaust note that I grew up listening for in the 90s! Just cant get it out of my memory and my neck breaks every time I hear it looking for that Foxbody or Sn95 coming down the street. I've actually got thrush glasspacks on it now and they give me that nice little popcorn effect on downshift and revs. It sounds pretty tasteful for a y-ed out 4 banger, but who knows what will actually go on it when I finally get my engine put together!

I saw that one too but it was a bit ghetto. I have a 70 Supreme SX die cast, and I have seen 71 Supreme SX as well.
Hmm... Here's some aftermarket pieces to use with the convertible kit. I could fake the vinyl top with some textured paint, but I would still need a front bench seat and spoke wheels. Either way that's starting to get expensive.
